Description: A.L. Burt, Publisher New York. No date. "Burt's Home Library". Hardcover (maroon with texture and gold/gilt lettering & deco. to spine) with no dustjacket.
Condition: Good good-plus condition... (see my photo/scan) Binding tight. Endpapers seem more frail/tanned/aged & have a (gold?) pattern on them, and have a small tear on foredge of first endpaper and a small chip that tore (me) from that top corner, and I re-attached it with a Lineco-brand archival/non-acid document repair tape. Second endpaper has an ovener name in ink, and is also more tanned on the front ~ where it touches that first, decorative endpaper. Pages (inner/text) are just lightly tanned and appear unmarked. Cover has bumped corners, some edgewear, including edges of spine, with more at edges of head and tail of spine and corner tips. Looks quite old, and looks very good for age.

John Ruskin (8 February 1819 – 20 January 1900) is best known for his work as an art critic, sage writer, and social critic, but is remembered as an author, poet and artist as well. Ruskin's essays on art and architecture were extremely influential in the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
